How we made a broken skull face effect in adobe photoshop.

In this tutorial, we are going to describe how we made a broken skull face effect in adobe photoshop. We are getting into an advanced level so our tutorial will be a bit longer. So let us begin the process.

Making Broken Skull Face Effect

As we did in our earlier manipulation of the Halloween Skull Face design, we are going to do the same process here also. We combined five different photos in our manipulation and made the design look realistic.

Choosing Pictures For Broken Skull Face Effect

First, we chose a girl model face. Then red-eye image for the demon-looking. Then we took an abstract dry clay texture for the broken skull face effect. At last, we chose a robotic face to make the cheek robotic. These five pictures we used in our manipulation. We made the effect step by step.

Making Red-Eye Effect

We opened all of our images in the same process as we did on our Typographic Portrait design. Our demon red-eye was combined with other objects. So we selected our eyesight using the “Quick Selection Tool.” Then we removed all the other objects inside the image using the “Eraser Tool.” After we erased all the extra areas, we moved the red-eye to our main model photo.

After that, we brought down the opacity level to 27 percent so that we can settle the red-eye on the model face perfectly. We pressed “Ctrl+T” to open the “Free Transform” tool for our red-eye and resized it as our model eyes.

First, we placed the red eye on the left side and then we copied the eye and placed it on the right side. After that, we made a “Layer Mask” for each of those red eyes layers, and then we took the “Brush Tool” and selected a soft brush effect and brushed it over the top of our eyes to make it more realistic. After that, we made the red eyes layer opacity 100 percent again. Our devil red-eyes for broken skull face effect is done.

Making Broken Face Effect

We selected a dry land image for the broken face texture and brought the image to our main workplace. We pressed “Ctrl+T” to transform the texture as our main design size. Then we made the blending mood to “Multiply.”

After that, we made a layer mask for our texture layer and selected the “Brush Tool.” We brushed over the extra areas that we don’t need. The texture will be only on skins. Our broken face effect is done.

Making Broken Lips

Our model lip’s color is faded for the texture effect. So we took a dry lips picture and put it on the model’s lips. We brought the image to our workspace and made the opacity 46 percent so that we can place the lips perfectly. Then we pressed the “Ctrl+T” for the “Transform Tool” and resized the lips. Again we made a layer mask for the extra lips layer and selected the brush tool. We brushed black color over the extra area which we don’t need. The brush should be soft. Our broken lips effect is done.

Making Robotic Cheek Effect

After that, we opened a robot picture. We wanted to make our model’s right cheek robotic. But the picture we chose was left-side robotic. So we clicked on “Edit Option,” then “Transform Path,” and then “Flip Horizontal” to reflect the picture horizontally. Then we selected the “Magic Wand Tool” and then clicked on the unwanted areas and pressed “Delete Key” to remove them.

The process is taking a long time. So we moved into the “Eraser Tool” And took a big eraser and removed all the unwanted areas. Then we made the opacity 52 percent and pressed “Ctrl+T” to transform the robotic face. We made the robotic face the size of our model’s face.

After the transformation, we made the opacity 100 percent again. Then we made a layer mask on the robotic face layer and then selected the “Brush Tool” and brush black color all over the layer. Then we selected white color and brushed it over the cheek, right eye, and chin area of our model. The robotic cheek effect for our design is done.

Finishing The Design

Our manipulation is done, and it looks scary. In this tutorial, we only worked on different layer masks and used five different photos. This is the best tutorial for beginners. Hope you guys enjoy our video and tutorial.
